  • Wood
A wood burning stove, burns only wood, on flat base, This is due to wood burning best on a bed of ash.

If you are more inclined to use your stove for a few hours a day & in the evenings as a secondary heat source we would advise choosing a woodburning stove.
  • Multi Fuel
A multifuel stove provides you with  multiple choices of fuel to use such as wood, Coal & other fuels such as coffee logs you may have spotted on sale in the supermarkets.  A multifuel stove has a grate and riddling system on which the fuel burns. This allows air to come from below this grate. This allows fuels such as coal to burn more efficiently. An ash pan sits underneath this grate. As the fuel burns the ash falls into the pan. Burning soley wood on this grate is not as efficient as in a wood only stove however if you do not riddle the great & allow the ash to build up on the grate this will mitigate this problem.

If you wish to burn the appliance over night or for most of the day & have a source of coal then we would advise a multi fuel appliance.

Please note going into 2022 sale of coal will be restricted as part of the Government’s clean air strategy.
